Managing Director, Andy Neale is moving to Thailand this month to pursue the next stage in our development.
“I don’t expect anything significant to happen in the first year; much of that time will be dedicated to gaining experience in TEFL and familiarising myself with both the local culture and business prospects”.
He continues, “Not forgetting the fact that Global Amigos has always been a part time project”
So what is the plan there?
“Ideally, I want to nestle in to or create a space to engage with other people who give a dam about the world. That’s about as specific I can be at this stage as too many potential elements depend on so many variable factors. We have our Preston-grown projects which could possibly be amended / mimicked to meet local market / community member needs: an After Hate Thailand website maybe? A Podio Bangkok perhaps? Literally anything could pop up though, it’ll depend on who we meet and what we learn”.
The ultimate vision for Global Amigos has been, since 2015, to have a self-sustainable hub in a developing country; one which learns from and supports local community members and welcomes international community members for social action oppotunities and retreats.
