Welcome to a Lancashire-born but internationally inspired, social enterprise.

Global Amigos is the umbrella company comprising various projects in the North of England. The plan is to is to venture into developing nations and launch community hubs. Our existing projects benefit from over a dozen fabulous volunteers. We receive zero funding; all money is generated through commercial activities which we then apply to good use.

We’re on an ever-evolving journey but all share similar passions. Use our business services, or support the links at Global Amigo (Andy’s blog) and you support a much broader spectrum of work.

“The last few years have been spent linking with & learning from communities around the globe & within our own neighbourhoods.

Whilst continuing to develop our UK projects, the ultimate vision is to create a sustainable community hub in a developing nation; to create opportunities to learn from and share with members of a local community, and to welcome members of the international community who wish to experience life in a developing country – whilst supporting an ethical / environmentally conscious project. We’ll continue to promote worthwhile third party programmes such as Chennai Challenge (summer programme in India) and International Citizenship Service (three month volunteer placements globally) as well as welcome opportunities for collaboration with other inspiring & community-engaging projects”

2019 Update

  • Army of Amigos – the Bigger Picture

From Nicaragua & South Africa to the slum communities in India, Global Amigos plans to continue giving back – and we want to encourage others to be part of our story. *If you care about the world / might like to get involved, get in touch to be added to our Army of Amigos.

  • Podio Preston, meet Podio Bangkok.

Our flagship pocket-sized magazine has continued to be published in Preston with our most dedicated volunteers from the past few years becoming Directors of a Community Interest Company; the idea being to take the Preston branch of our publication completely under their wings in future. Now that Andy is living in Thailand, prospects of a Podio Bangkok have started being looked into.

  • Global Amigos Thailand

Summer 2019 will see a second recruitment drive for Global Amigos – here in Chachoengsao Thailand. It’ll likely be an intimate affair but one which will, nevertheless, promote our ethos of collaboration & sharing our desire to develop grassroot ideas. (Ideas for which have already started coming in – from a creative studio in the city centre to making environmentally friendly soap)

  • International Vision Cemented

As set out in December 2018, we plan to publish a working document in Autumn 2019 explaining our international vision. It’s quite simple though really, from 2020, we plan to develop a central hub from which Andy will be predominantly based; one where the local community, and international community members can benefit and be inspired #WatchThisSpace
